Regard sur l'engagement féminin

This artistic project of portrait photography is a tribute to women who have dedicated a large part of their life and energy to working for the common good, out of the pure conviction that they can effectively help others. Through this series of portraits, photographer Ana Dominguez-Lombard wishes to give a face to these strong and effective but sometimes silent female figures, so that they may inspire us and make us realize the positive impact of the actions of many women in society, in Geneva in particular. Geneva is a city that is characterized by philanthropy and benevolence towards others, a host city for many foreigners who have, over time, become an integral part of the cultural landscape of this international city. This series of portraits seeks to pay tribute to these extraordinary women, thanking them for their philanthropic actions and their positive impact on society.

Ana’s goal is to show the faces of women's philanthropy in Geneva and above all to inspire other women to follow in their footsteps.

This project will be part of a the main exhibition; “DIVERS EGALES UNIS” initiated by the Director of UN Geneva, Ms. Tatiyana Volavaya, with the support of Ms. Victoria Dzodziev, curator and representative of "Women Artists and the Values of the United Nations Charter", and Dr. Isabelle de le Court, Art Historian. This exhibition will be presented at the Musée Rath on August 31st 2021 in Geneva.

This series is the first part of a photographic project on women's engagement in Switzerland, starting in Geneva, which will later be published.
